Our Vision
Our vision is a world where orangutans are free from the threat of extinction and can live in the wild, unharmed by humans.
back to their home.

Adopt an orphaned orangutan
Orangutans are on the brink of extinction. Help provide the care and rehabilitationย
they need to return to the wild.
The Problem
There are numerous threats to the viability of the remainingย wild orangutan populationย in Indonesia and Malaysia.ย ย The primary threat is theย loss of habitat with up to 80% of suitable forest in Indonesia and Malaysiaย having been lost in the past 20 years. Other threats, which often go hand-in-hand with the destruction of the rainforest, are the illegal pet trade and poaching.

Today, we #celebrate 15 years of RHOI (Restorasi Habitat Orangutan Indonesia)!๐
RHOI is an independent organisation founded by our parent, the BOS Foundation. Its sole purpose is to provide a permanent, safe, and sufficient forest site for wild, semi-wild, and rehabilitated Bornean #orangutans to live in freedom and establish a new, viable wild population to bolster #conservation of this critically #endangered species.
Let's continue to #SaveOrangutans together!๐ฆง

I’ve just watched a news artical on 9News about a baby Orangutan who has been born by C Section in an American zoo (destined to a life in captivity). Why is this reaching our National news when all the wonderful work that Australian BOS does in Borneo, training and releasing Orangutans in the wild, not getting onto our National news? ๐ฉ
Yes that was what we were told at the Orang center near on our visit to Borneo๐
this one is handsome, like his beard!
๐’s like he could ๐บ๐
He is beautiful
A very handsome fellow.
Did you know we also care for 75 #sunbears at Samboja Lestari? Beautiful Fleur (photo) is one of them.
The sun bear (Helarctos malayanus) is the smallest of the eight bear species in the world. Sadly, they face numerous threats, like #orangutans.
If you join one of our Orangutan Enrichment Volunteer Tours in #borneo, you will also prepare enrichment items for these #cute bearsโanother reason to #BookToday! We have multiple start dates available.
