A little about Trio (Yo)
Trio was just like Togar, confiscated in Pontianak in November 2001. He was approx. 2,5 years old with short sparse hair and a bit of an attitude. He weighed 8 kg. Just like all the other smaller orangutans we receive at Nyaru Menteng he was not quarantined in a cage. He was assigned to a babysitter who would sit in a small patch of forest separate from the others. Trio absolute loved the trees, not so much to climb in, but to throw himself from. After his quarantine he was ecstatic to meet his new friends and immediately stated doing all kind of acrobatics. His favorites are pirouettes and saltoes on the lawn. After he met Mona who is an experienced climber he has finally taken to the trees as well, even though they both playfight on the ground in the late afternoons when their little arms are tired. He is constantly looking for things that amuse him such as new acrobatics or someone to tickle him and he can clown around for hours on end leaving us in fits of laughter every other minute. Though he is doing OK in the babyschool for now, he will soon move on to the midway facility, as he is a bit of a bully which is NOT going to get less as he grows bigger and stronger.
