MEET OUR NEW FAMILY MEMBER
While season 3 of Orangutan Jungle School is finally airing, we are thrilled to have added this season’s star to our adoption program. Please welcome Bumi.
The seven-year-old arrived at our Nyaru Menteng centre on 18 June 2016. The tiny baby boy was so incredibly weak that he could not even open his eyes. We believe that he was violently separated from his mother shortly after birth.
Even though we can never replace his mother, we will do everything possible to bring him back home to the wild – and you can help us by sponsoring him for less than one dollar a day.
Bumi already made significant progress in Forest School and has grown into an active juvenile who loves to play and actively hone his skills both in Forest School and on the playground. When it is time for the orangutans to prepare for their afternoon nap, Bumi prefers to continue exploring the forest, climb tall trees, and swing from their vines with best buddy Paulinus.
When you adopt Bumi, you become a vital part of his rehabilitation journey back to his rainforest home. You will receive quarterly updates with photos and a once-yearly video showing his progress. We are sure Bumi will steal your heart as he teaches us the true meaning of wild adventures.
